PortfoliosThe critical literacy approach can work at any grade level. Let’s use this blog space to share resources as they support Critical Literacy through writing, digital story telling, video, audio, strategy guides, or any other online or printable resources – let’s focus on our own classrooms and grade levels that we teach, and discuss the possibilities in this blog.

  1. First, tell us why you chose the resource.
  2. Next, provide us with a link to the resource and a brief description of it.
  3. Explain how the resource works effectively, or has the potential to work effectively as a critical literacy approach

I resource that I love is www.readworks.org. It provides you with a variety of texts for all ages and abilities. The topics can be easily integrated to any classroom discussion. The passages also come with comprehension questions that can be used to help struggling students or can be used as an assessment tool. Lesson plans, paired passages and so much more is available on that site. All you have to do is sign up, Its a free site and you get emails when something new comes in for your grade.
